Public Beta Terms • Updated August 29, 2026

Simple rules for using MathLab responsibly.

These public beta terms describe permitted use of MathLab. Contact hello@mashedpotatostudios.com before using the service if you do not understand or accept them.

Beta access

MathLab is provided for learning, evaluation, and feedback during a public beta. Features may change, pause, reset, or be withdrawn. Availability, saved work, generated guidance, and compatibility are not guaranteed.

The public beta is currently offered without a MathLab subscription charge. This does not guarantee permanent free access or future pricing.

Accounts and authorization

Provide accurate account information, protect sign-in credentials, and use only an account you are authorized to use. A parent, guardian, educator, or institution must provide supervision or authorization where required by local rules.

A declared school name does not prove membership. Do not impersonate another learner, educator, guardian, school, or organization.

Acceptable use

  • Use MathLab for lawful educational purposes.
  • Do not probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass security, quotas, access controls, or safety boundaries.
  • Do not upload or enter personal, confidential, harmful, illegal, or rights-infringing material.
  • Do not use MathLab outputs as the sole basis for grading, diagnosis, placement, safeguarding, medical, legal, or other high-stakes decisions.
  • Report suspected mathematical errors, unsafe guidance, security issues, and accessibility barriers responsibly.

Math Coach and educational limitations

Generated guidance may be incomplete or wrong. Deterministic activity checks remain authoritative within MathLab, but educators and families should still review the underlying mathematical content for their context.

MathLab does not replace a teacher, qualified tutor, accessibility professional, counselor, emergency service, or safeguarding process.

Suspension, responsibility, and changes

Mashed Potato Studios may limit or suspend access needed to protect learners, the service, other users, or legal obligations. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta is provided as available without warranties, and liability is limited to the extent the law permits.

Material changes will be published with an updated date. Continued use after a change means the updated terms apply, except where additional notice or consent is required.
